Why do I need to be 18 years old to join Papillon Z?
You must be at least 18 to join Papillon Z because we encourage you to purchase at least pepper spray and carry it with you at all times. There are laws in every state which govern the sale of pepper spray. ALL OF THEM LIMIT THE SALE TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, AND WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY. We also ask that you sign a Pledge when you join Papillon Z. A pledge is a special type of contract. You must be 18 years of age to sign a contract in all 50 states.
Why do I need to join if I can access Resources, Safety Tips and Videos without joining???
Those Resources (national organizations and Hotlines), and limited access to Safety Tips and Self-Defense Videos will always be available for EVERYONE. Members will have access to MUCH MORE, as well as many other Benefits of Membership (click the Butterfly above to read about BENEFITS).
My grandma wants to join Papillon Z.
Yes. Your grandma is welcome to join! There is no age limit over 18 years of age. [There are safety skills, self-defense moves and techniques, as well as self-protection devices, designed and available for all age groups. [We provide information as well as links to various organizations for these.]
What is the PLEDGE?
I HEREBY PLEDGE, in accordance with the purposes and objectives of PAPILLON Z, to support the Organization’s Mission to EDUCATE and EMPOWER Members by providing information, links to information and Resources on the website so they can SELF-EDUCATE and SELF-TRAIN, and use Technology to EMPOWER themselves to help Prevent Sexual Assault (Exploitation, Trafficking, Sexual Harassment, Bullying, etc.); to foster companionship, communication, cooperation and support among Members; to read and utilize Safety & Prevention Tips available on the website (information and links), watch Self-Defense Videos (links are on the website), take a FREE online Empowerment Self-Defense course (links are on the website), and be vigilant and aware of my surroundings at all times; to carry at least one (1) self-defense/self-protection item at all times; to take at least one (1) Empowerment Self-Defense course online and at least one in-person Empowerment Self-Defense course; and to maintain HONOR, INTEGRITY AND HONESTY, and adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior when acting in any role or responsibility of Membership in PAPILLON Z.
I do not live in the United States. Can I join Papillon Z?
No, not at the present time. Only people who live in the United States and in US Territories can join, however, we will let everyone know when we can process international payments. We will also be offering translation capability in the future.
When will I receive my New Member Packet?
Approximately 2-4 weeks after joining to allow sufficient time to study Safety Tips, watch self-defense videos, and take an online empowerment self-defense course.
